13 Reasons Why Questions

1. Who does Hannah go to for help? Did he help her? Hannah goes to her counselor Mr. Porter for help. He did not help her because he didnt take her seriously and because he kept asking a lot of questions.


2. Describe Hannah’s conversation with Mr. Porter? Hannah was trying to open up to Mr. Porter, but he didnt take her conversation seriously.


3. Do you think Mr. Porter could have helped Hannah? How? I think Mr. Porter could have helped Hannah by talking to her about her problems.


4. Why do you think Mr. Porter didn’t go after Hannah when she left him in the office? I think Mr. Porter didnt go after Hannah when she left him in the office, because he didnt really care what she was going through and that he was a careless counselor and teacher.


5. List character in this chapter one sentence for each character. The characters in this chapter is Hannah and Mr. Porter and he was a teacher and counselor at Hannah' school.


6. What were Hannah's last words? Hannah's last words were "Im sorry..."


7. Why is he crying? Clay was crying, because he felt really bad that Hannah killed herself and the words "Im sorry..." is going to remind him of Hannah even more.


8. Tell me a time where you couldn't control yourself from crying. The time when I couldnt control myself from crying was when my ex left me.


9. Why does he say thank you in the end? Clay says thank you in the end, because he thank Hannah for giving him the tapes and now he knows the reasons why she killed herself.


10. What was your favorite part of the chapter? My favorite part of the chapter was when Clay was crying.


11. What can you relate to in this chapter? I can relate to this chapter, because I can get suicidal at times.

  • Sentence- The platform contained the usual platitudes


13. Make a prediction of what will happen in the next chapter. Next chapter I predict that Clay sees Hannah for the last time.


14. What is the teen issue of this chapter? The teen issue in this chapter is about suicide.
